NEW FAMILY, NEW STORYLINE

Looking back at my previous predictions for Season Three of The Walking Dead Game and it’s clear that a significant amount of time has passed. Clementine has matured significantly, adopting a newfound “mothering instinct” towards an otherwise absent Alvin Jr (AJ). Clementine is still to be reunited with the elusive Christa and has been left alone to fend for herself following the sudden, yet heroic death of Kenny. A bold move, Clementine has become a side character, as players are introduced to the proudly-Spanish ‘Garcia’ family. Continue reading

E3 CONFERENCE 2017 – TOP PICKS

Warning, content may contain spoilers.

E3 Conference took place between June 13-15, with around 42 upcoming games showcased. Highlights include Metro Exodus (release date TBC), which continues the narrative from novels Metro 2033 and Metro 2035 by Dmitry Glukhovsky.
I’ve become more receptive to open-world games recently, with State of Decay 2 scheduled for release in Spring 2018.
“How will you survive?” You can’t beat full-blown immersion into a post-apocalyptic utopia where you seek out and construct your own settlement, whilst forced to wade through hoards of the undead.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins – scheduled for release on October 27 – was disappointing and could easily be overlooked, but does well to mimic the artisan charm of an ancient Egyptian city, where the Brotherhood was born.

FAR CRY 5

“Set everything right. Settle your debts. Only then can you move on.” – Ronan O’ Connor

The hunt for your killer begins when playing Murdered: Soul Suspect.

INITIAL THOUGHTS BEFORE GAMEPLAY

Murdered: Soul Suspect was released on STEAM on June 5, 2014. Developed by Airtight Games, it boasts an interesting concept with a rather amateur execution, and applies a unique twist to an otherwise ominous detective drama. Continue reading

The Walking Dead: Michonne’s catchy theme, complete with a comic book crossover.

The Walking Dead: Michonne bridges the gap between issues #126 and #139 of The Walking Dead comics. I’m only partway through the comics myself, with the Telltale mini-series totalling five hours of simple, yet effective gameplay. Continue reading

**WHEN YOU WISH UPON A FISH**

Written by Amy Moore.

Article written to accompany a creative, photographic interpretation of the Russian fairytale The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish, penned by Alexander Pushkin, which dates back to the early 1830s.

The narrative is simple and has underlying tones of greed and ambition.

When an old and poor fisherman captures a Golden Fish – to his surprise – he is promised any wish in return for its freedom. Shocked, he decides to set the fish free. His wife becomes angry by his decision and asks the fish for one small request. One request leads to another, and then another, and then another. She soon receives everything she could ever dream to have. However, the fisherman’s wife’s requests soon become so extravagant that the Golden Fish decides to cure her greed by placing her back in the impoverished state she began with.

Dreams are almost always motivated by people’s personal goals and endless ambitions. Continue reading

Singer-songwriter Hannah Telle voices lead character Maxine “Max” Caulfield in Life Is Strange. Above is her track ‘Hollow Glow’ which perfectly reflects the acoustic undertones of the game.

Life Is Strange has achieved many accolades since its release throughout 2015, including the BAFTA Games Award for Story (2016). Life Is Strange almost plays out like a short movie, with a digital series based on Dontnod Entertainment’s second game release reportedly in the works. Continue reading

“There is a sweet and subtle attention to natural lighting, with frequent shots of sunlight peeping through the trees. It’s almost autumnal.”

With ‘overwhelmingly positive’ reviews on STEAM, I thought I’d download the free-to-play first episode of the 2015 adventure series, Life Is Strange Continue reading
